This past week we had the chance to take a step into the past and visit Salem, Ma. The town was an amazing blend of history and current new age/metaphysical communities. I was amazed at how friendly the town was, which for most of us in the DC area can be a total culture shock in itself. As a medium, it was interesting to tap into the spiritual under current. We stayed at the historic Stepping Stone Inn right near the main downtown area. There were metaphysical shops a plenty, and it was nice to be on the other side of the sales counter. With this much competition it is tough to stand out, but one shop really grabbed me: Hex: Old Town Witchery. As someone who is
deeply connected to hoodoo, voodoo and Santeria this shop had all the essentials. There were candles for all occasions, mojo bags, stones, and just an amazing energy. We had a chance to visit the many memorials dedicated to those that suffered and died in the witch hunt of 1692. It was somber, but equally powerful to see how far this city has come. There are still remnants of the past that need to be healed, and the city is doing an amazing job. I look forward to future adventures, and now it is time to ride the wave of inspiration from the trip. I will share and explore some of the more ghostly encounters I had while visiting this fascinating town.
